Question about 1988 Chevrolet Beretta
My 88 Beretta idles funny when I start it and when I am in drive and stopped. When I first start it, it sounds like someone is revving the engine up and the RPM's go up to 2000 for a few seconds then down to what I assume is a normal 1000. When I am in drive and I stop, the RPMS go down to 600, jump to 800, and then drop to 0 as the engine dies - if I place the car in PARK right as I stop it will not die. Last night, I was sleeping, and my roommate woke me up at around 10pm saying ''your alarm is going off on your car!''. Well I don't have an alarm so this freaked me out. I went outside and my horn was going off waking up all the neighbors. I disconnected the battery and then looked for the fuse for the horn. I took it out and reconnected the battery and that stopped it. I'm wondering if taking that fuse out has anything to do with this idle problem I'm having now. Anyone know what is going on here?
