Does this vehicle have a transmission pan? If so, is there a gasket betwixt pan and motor? Bad gasket? Or is the leak out the side/back of the tranny where the seals are?

Where does transmission fluid go

On any car with a transmission dip stick, you add transmission fluid through that tube. Juat make sure you use the right fluid for your vehicle and check the level with the transmission fluid fully warmed up and the car idleing in park.

Where can I find the number on the transmission of a 1995 nissan maxima

What number? In the transmission business they call a trans, a unit.
Stop by a trans repair shop, they will tell you what make and model is in your vehicle, by opening the hood and looking at it.

Car overheating & transmission is slipping

Sounds like a bad radiator. The radiator doesn't just cool the coolant. It also cools the tranny fluid. So if it just started overheating and slipping at the same time then the radiator has probably leaked out enough coolant to make it overheat and enough tranny fluid to make it slip. Check for leaks or wet spots where you park. And obviously check both fluid levels.

The car is leaking transmission fluid

It may be leaking from the transmission pan gasket or either of the transaxle seals. If it's leaking from the middle front of the transmission, it could be the front pump seal, if it's that, you'll have to remove the transmission to replace that seal. They others can be done with the transmission in the car.

With no signs or symptoms my transmission fluid began leaking last night and engine surging? what is causing this?

With the MAJOR loss of transmission fluid your vehicle will surge and "buck"
DO NOT drive your vehicle UNTIL you find out where the leak is coming from.
If you drive without the proper amount of transmission fluid YOU WILL RUIN the transmission.
Wipe all fuid off the transmission, and see if you can locate leak, WITHOUT engine running.
Please let me know.

Transmission fluid leaking out very quickly. In just a few days

Start vehicle, add fluid until FULL cold mark, raise vehicle in the air,and look for the point of origin of the leak.If the trans is dirty, grimey, greasey,or wet with fluid everywhere to where you can't determine the point of origin of the leak, then clean it thoroughly with spray cans of brake cleaner to degrease and clean it well. Now,start the vehicle again, let it run, raise vehicle back in the air,and LOOK with a light for the point of origin where the fluid is coming from.If you see a drop low on the trans, follow it back up,because it ran down from somewhere.Thats it.You could always have 2 and 3 minor leaks too,at the same time,so just keep that in mind.If leaking from the pan, install a new pan gasket,if leaking from a cooler line, repair the line, etc.
