The security system may have got wet. HAve you checked that its working properly? have you tried checking for error codes?

The chip / key is most likely fine if it didn't get wet, You could try another key / chip on it. Probably the sensor thats malfunctioning.

Need to bypass my factory anti theft device on my 2001 PT Cruiser 5 speed

I believe you are referring to the immobilizer in your key for your car. Unfortunately there is not a way around this factory anti theft system. However most delearships have the ability program new keys for you.

If you had two valid keys that were already programed to the car's immobilizer you can simply buy another key with a programmable immobilizer chip, usually referred to as a sentry key. These keys are available at some hardware stores for cheaper then you would find at a dealership. So if you have the old keys and a new blank key you can follow the following procedure in most cars to program the new key:

1. Bring the replacement sentry key to a hardware store or dealership. Have it cut to match the original valid sentry keys.
  • 2. Place the first valid key into the PT Cruiser's ignition and turn to the ON position for a minimum of three seconds and a maximum of 15 seconds. Turn ignition switch off until it is in the LOCK position and remove the key.
  • 3. Within 15 seconds, insert the second valid key and turn the ignition to the ON position. Wait ten seconds or until a chime sounds and the vehicle security light begins to flash. Turn the ignition off until it is in the LOCK position and remove the key.
  • 4. Within 60 seconds, insert the new blank sentry key into the ignition switch and turn it to the ON position. Wait 10 seconds or until you hear a single chime and the vehicle security light stops flashing. Look for the indicator light on the dashboard. If it turns on for three seconds and then turns off, the key has been successfully programmed.

I have a 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser at just over 80,000 miles. At random intervals, the warning chime will sound off for no apparent reason. There are no warning lights on the dashboard. There are no error...

Check to see if you have a water level indicator in the top of the radiator . A small plastic fitting with 1 wire from it. IF so it works when there is no water around it and will activate an alarm to warn you of lost water in the cooling system. The problem here is that the radiator cap will allow heated water out to the reservoir but on cooling down insufficient water is drawn back in to keep the top tank completely full. So there is a space that will allow water to miss the unit (cornering-stopping-hills up or down) momenterially and hence the unit chimes intermittently. Check if the top tank is completely full when cool.

My 2002 pt cruiser wont starts and it act likes the battery is dead, but it isnt. what could be the problem?

check battery connections1st check all fuses under dash and under hood in the black box. it will have main fuses in the one under the hood. next is the starter itself, with the key on and headlights on, when you turn key to start, do headlights go dim? pointing to bad starter if not. are you sure the transmission is in the park position? have you added a security to your car lately? try manually with a key to lock and unlock the doors. has your car been stored for a long time? the computer may have to be flased by the dealer, cost$85.00 and tow in. hope this helps and thank you for choosing

    Key Does Not Work

It could be that chip inside key just went bad. Do u have a 3rd key? That works? If so take the 2 good keys and turn the igntion to run postion for 3 secs each then do the same for the 3rd key and this will reprogram it if the chip is ok. If you do not have 2 good keys then u will have to have a scan tool that will link up with PATS system and perform security access to reprogram it.
