Question about 2006 Hyundai Accent

1 Answer

I have a 2006 hyundai accent it is idling high and it seems to me that the tranny is slipping when you first start the car and take off, the rmps hit about 4000 before it finally kicks, my check engine light is on... and y boyfriend seems to be pretty sure that it is not the transmission but the spark plugs... i dont thin khe knows anything about cars HELP! i kwo the car needs an oil change pretty badly but other than that im wondering if it could be anything else

You are right -- your boyfriend does not know anything about cars! LOL. But seriously, this sounds like a serious transmission problem, likely caused by a defective seal between the torque converter and the transmission. Is your car still under warranty? I assume that it is. Also, what mileage is on your car? Also, and most importantly, have you opened the hood and checked the transmission fluid dipstick to see if the transmission fluid is up to the filled mark? I am sure that your boyfriend can do this procedure. :-)

No one could tell me what was wrong with my 2006 hyundai . Why the check engine light kept being on. Autozone, Napa, Advance auto, their FREE diagnostic machine could not figure the problem. It kept reading p0012 and they didn't know what exactly that meant so... I had to give in and take it to the hyundai dealership and pay$99 for a real diagnostic test. That's when I was told it was my oil control valve and the problem got fixed, no more headache!

Why is my Hyundai Accent 2006 cvvt battling to idle after cambelt broke. Was replaced with valves ect. Currently driving without airflow sencor being plugged in. Wouldn`t idle with it plugged in?

I would suggest a compression test to ensure that all the damaged valves were replaced. Replace the MAF sensor as it appears that it is faulty

2008 hyundai accent clutch slipping, i think?

seems a bit early for clutch. how many k's? I would start by checking the intake tube for splits & security & airflow sensor. they will cause the engine to rev but no response (like a slipping clutch) so its manual right?

My Hyundai Accent GL is beginning to idle to high, when driving

I think I would seek a different opinion from a shop that has a good reputation. This sounds like 'make-work' to me. We have several shops in our area that are known for doing the same thing! Service costs are high enough with trying to gouge someone. Good luck!

There is a high pitch whinning noise when i start my car and the battery light is on but very dim then it goes away after about 20 mins (1997 hyundai accent)

your belt is slipping on your alternator...either needs replaced or tightened. Or your pulley on the alternator is freezing up a little and making it hard to turn....making your belt slip then.
