Check for dirty throttle body. Maybe IAC motor gummed up. If throttle body dirty, get some carb cleaner and a soft toothbrush and clean well. If this doesn't work, most likely an IAC (idle air control) motor.

Why doesn't my '97 Ply. Grand Voyager 3.3 engine start after it sits awhile. Shows P0340 code. I have replaced the cam sensor and after the Van starts, it will run great all day long without any codes

DTC P0340: Camshaft position sensor A circuit (bank A). Probable cause:
1. The replaement sensor could be defective
2. Connector terminal contact dirty or corroded
3. Wire harness fault. Check for correct voltage, open, short to ground, short to voltage
4. Control unit software needs to be updated
5. Faulty PCM or ECM

2000 ford excursion will not stay on

Check the fuel pressure regulator.
by starting the car with your foot on the accelerator pedal half the way if it starts and continue running while you are holdining yore foot on and stops as soon as you take it off the accelerator .
then change the fuel pressure regulator it is located under hood in the rear side at top of the engine.

Problems accelerating

the engine tickover is too slow when the engine is cold its running on cold start, ie:choke,, after it warms up the engine slows down this is what is causing it to stall in gear,, get some one to hold the brakes hard on and with the engine running in gear ajust the tick over till its reving at 750 - 850 rpm the revs will go up a bit when its out of gear,, before you pick a gear to go into push the foot brake down to stop the car lurching,,,

Low power when accelerating

I thought the filter might be the issue here, on carb cars the engine tends to stall out with a plugged filter.
