1998 Dodge Ram 1500 won't start

While pulling a u-haul trailer on highway, truck just turned off, wouldn't accelerate. Battery was fine, all lights etc. worked. Truck just won't turn over. Clutch?

I apologize, I am not car savvy. What do you mean turnover? You turn key and radio, etc will come on (no clicking noises or anything). But when you push in clutch and attempt to start, you get nothing. Does that better explain?

I was just assuming clutch due to having been pulling trailer and driving on highway when this happend. At first glance, since no clicking noise didn't think could be starter and since lights, radio and stuff work I didn't think it'd be electrical.

I still didn't do a good job of explaining.....The truck has power such as the horn, lights, radio, a/c will turn on. But when you attempt to actually "start" truck nothing happens. No engine noises, no nothing. Just a truck that won't start, won't move =0(

I should have at least 12v, first thing I tried was replacing battery with new one and cleaning/checking connectors. But I will check voltage.

It's fixed! It was actually just the coil. Cleaned it off, truck started right up, good as new! Thanks for everyones help!

Yeah see mine is doing the same thing, I was replacing a Cd player, and burned my battery out when i accidently touched some wires together, got it replaced and then it ran ok, then a week later a fuse blew, and i replace it, well just today, my truck wont start, the lights come on, so i know the battery is good, but when i try to turn on the ignition, it just does nothing, whats can be my problem? my battery has 12v already, so idk whats going on

check to see if you have at least 12v at the battery those thing can work at low voltage but the starter need at least 12v to kick.

Still sounds like the timing belt/chain to me,especially since it just shut off goin down the road, had a 93 that did the same thing, dodge has a kind of safety switch that if the timing belt breaks the engine will shut down to keep you from tearing anything else up.

Did you turn off your overdrive to pull the trailer? If not, you may have overheated your transmission and possibly now have internal damage.

Driving down the highway turn lights on battery power drains (check guages light comes on) turn lights off battery continues ot charge and hold a charge. . generator? Alternator?

first of all, check voltage at battery car off should read at least 12.5 to 13 volts. now start car. at battery it should read at least 14 volts, if lower then 14 volts check alternator.

No brake/left turn on trailer.

Check in the underhood power distribution box (near battery). The trailer lights are fused separately from the truck, and each side has it's own fuse.
