Turn the key to the on position a see if you can here a buzzing sound around the fuel tank,if you don't hear a sound then. (be very careful while doing this) with the key off take a fuel line coming from the tank loose, make sure its pointed away from you and turn the key to the on position, see if any gas comes out,if not then your fuel pump is probably bad.

I have a 1990 dodge dakota sport with a 2.5 it stalls randomly and wont start until it sits for a few minutes. when it does die i still have fuel but no spark. all ignition parts have been replaced i.e....

Every engine has to have a way to know where the cylinders are and thus when to fire the spark plugs. Since your engine does not have a crankshaft sensor, the only means that the onboard computer has to know where the crankshaft is would be the sensor in the base of the distributor. This sensor monitors the position of the camshaft and thus can ascertain the position of the crankshaft as well. This, or the computer itself is the most likely culprit if you are failing to get spark.

I have a 1992 dodge dakota and awhile back i blew the engine. well we rebuilt it having it plained down and everything...then one day i was driving it and it just died and wont start. Its getting gas and...

when you say it has gas are you sure fuel is being injected by the injectors?
if not sure get whats called a noid light, sold at all large auto parts chain stores.they are inexspensive.plug it in to an injector connector and have someone crank engine if it blinks then injector signal ok. the light will give a dim blink which is ok.
no blink check for a blown fuse/loose connector/short to ground from engine to computer.
other causes of no start would be;
timing chain slipped
plugged exaust [melted down cat converter]
low fuel pressure
a major sensor failure,map sensor/throttle position sensor/crank,cam sensor
pcm [computer] failure or wireing to it
ignition switch
low compression

I have a 2002 Dodge Dakota. 3.9 liter V6. I have been having backfire issues and hesistation problems for a while I have replaced the spark plugs and wires, fuel injectors and o2 sensors. I don't think I...

It sounds like timing issues or the spark plug sequence is incorrect. To check the timing, remove the number one spark plug. Place a long screwdriver into the spark plug hole. Rotate the engine by using a ratchet and socket on the crankshaft pully nut (clockwise) and watch the screwdriver. When the timing marks in the crankshaft pully are aligned with "O" or "TDC" (top dead center) the screwdriver should be all the way out of the hole, just inside about 1 or 2 inches. If you rotate the crankshaft just a bit the screwdriver will start to go down, back the pully up to the 0 or TDC mark and the screwdriver will go back up. The is the properly timed engine.
Sometimes the engine will skip a couple of teeth due to a worn timing belt. Replace the timing belt and re-time the engine. Good luck, Jim

1994Dodge Dakota Wont start changed distributor cap rotor, coil, fuel pump, no spark wont start

could be a bad crankshaft position sensor or a bad camshaft position sensor. Either would cause no spark. I would check to see that you have fuel coming up to the throttle body
