Question about 1999 Toyota Camry

1 Answer

The electric windows in my 1999 Toyota Camry will go down, but struggle to go up and will stop altogether after about 2-6 inches of lift. I can push them up with my hand while holding the power switch in the up postion. I assume it is a motor problem, but find it odd that all the windows (but one) started acting this way about the same time.

I have a similar problem. My driver side window goes down fine but will only go up in spurts.

Could be the buttons, or the motors

i've had this problem. i sprayed liquid silicon down the guides where the window slides, then work the window up and down a few times. it's better if you lift the window while you're pushing the power button.

Fuse box is by drivers left knee. Above this are the flashers and about 3 inches above this is the circuit breaker for the windows and door locks. breaker is silver, about 1/2 by 5/8 inch and in the center is the button you need to push in to reset. I used an unbent paper clip to press it. Make sure unit is not energized. May need to unplug breaker first. Press in center button until it clicks.

I would try to lubtcate the rubber tracks that the window slides up and down in. Sometimes, dirt gets into the tracks, and the dirt acts like brakes. Get some 100% SILICONE SPRAY, and spray the rubber slides real good. See if that helps.

You need to replace the window regulator assembly.
The cables that run the glass up and down have broken inside the regulator.

Hope this helps. A FixYa rating would be greatly apprecited.

Try pushing the little square button above the power windows. That button locks all passenger windows.
