Hey, you can purchase a Haynes or Chilton repair manual. I believe there should be pages with scematics. I hope this helps you.

I have 1997 ford taurus. We need to replace the metal brake lines in the rear where they come off master cylinder....where can i find these lines? can i buy them preformed or do i have to buy a coil...

You cant buy them. The best way is to have the lines made at a repair shop, they can bend and flare the ends. make sure they bend them correctly, just like the old ones, and put the lines back into the mounts. most lines are 3/16", some are 1/4". Make sure the bleeders are able to be loosened to bleed the air out of the system.

How do i replace a power brake booster on a 97 ford taurus

  1. Step 1 Mark the brake lines coming into and out of the master cylinder using masking tape and permanent marker.
  2. Step 2 Orient the tube wrench so that it grabs the end of the nut by first sliding it over the brake line.
  3. Step 3 Pull the brake lines out of the master cylinder.
  4. Step 4 Unbolt the two bolts that hold the master cylinder to the brake booster.
  5. Step 5 Slide the master cylinder off the brake booster.
  6. Step 6 Remove the bolts that hold the brake booster to the firewall.
  7. Step 7 Remove the cotter pin from the pin holding the back of the brake pedal to the master cylinder.
  8. Step 8 Slide the brake booster to brake pedal pin out of the mounting bracket.
  9. Step 9 Pull the brake booster off the firewall.
  10. Step 10 Install the new brake booster. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Replacing brake lines

it sounds to me like you may have gotten the wrong ones I would got to NAPA or Autozone and get only the parts you need and if you have the old ones take them with you and also ask for compression fittings it will make the job alot easier and do not forget to bleed the brake lines when done
