air flow meters are expensive i would first replace the coolant temperature sensor

had similar problem easier to replace air mass meter and filter approx £45

Mercedes Benz C-class 180C, the car stops engine each time I break, I have removed the switch connection to the air flow meter and this stops, what is the implication of removing the switch and driving car without an air flow meter?

First of all, I am not convinced the air mass sensor is defective. I am not experienced with that particular car, but with Bosch injection in general, and I believe you should be reading ohms in a dead system, not volts in a live system. I believe the resistance should vary with air flow, or there should be pulses with movement of a flap.
But yes, if the one you have used to work, then it is probably fine. Getting a newer one is likely to be backward compatible, as long as the harness is the same. It is only getting an older one that is risky.

don't drive the car without air flow meter connected because the air flow meter signal very impotent for fuel mixture in combustion chamber, in your car faulty air flow meter replace air flow meter, is this information helped you?
