You don't say what the make model and year is.
Are you getting a check engine light when the engine is running ?
Have you checked fuel pressure and the throttle position sensor with a meter ?

Mercedes Benz C-class 180C, the car stops engine each time I break, I have removed the switch connection to the air flow meter and this stops, what is the implication of removing the switch and driving car without an air flow meter?

SOURCE: Air flow meter

First of all, I am not convinced the air mass sensor is defective. I am not experienced with that particular car, but with Bosch injection in general, and I believe you should be reading ohms in a dead system, not volts in a live system. I believe the resistance should vary with air flow, or there should be pulses with movement of a flap.

But yes, if the one you have used to work, then it is probably fine. Getting a newer one is likely to be backward compatible, as long as the harness is the same. It is only getting an older one that is risky.

Runs but when i give it gas it dies

check the air flow meter located near the air filter . you can get specific air flow meter cleaner and it is the only thing I would use for the job and no compressed air . also check the electrical connection to the air flow meter , and use di electric grease on the connection , it aids in keeping corrosion out and promotes a better connection . that's where id be looking first . hope that helps you .

Doesn't start all the time

I suggest that you have your local auto parts store like AutoZone or Advance perform a free diagnostic scan. Your problem could be anything from a faulty fuel pump to a malfunctioning mass air flow sensor.

A diagnostic scan will pinpoint your problem in most instances. Best of all: It's free.

I got it on a scanner it pulled up egr mass air flow miss fire what could it b dont have a lot of money and need the car for work

The defect is basically this - the Mass Air Flow meter (the one that measures how much air gets inside the engine) gives bad data so the air/fuel mixture is not in the correct proportion so it doesn't light up. This is detected as a misfire.
All you need to do is to replace the MAF - you can get one cheaply from a breakers yard. And for a few $ more they will also fit it to your car. In all it will cost you about $125.

2003 be jetta won't go more than 20 mph

Hi there? It sounds like the car is ranning on limp mode. Is the engine managment light on? if so, the air flow meter can cause this simptons. If you disconnect the air flow meter which is located next to the air filter box, it should improve it if it is disconnected, don't worry this will not cause any problems.
If it improves it by disconnecting the air flow meter then you'll need a new air flow meter..
Good luck......

2001 malibu shifts rough

code p0113 means: IAT sensor high temp

and the solution:
The Intake air temp sensor is located inside the air flow meter and uses yellow and black wire and the black wire. IAT sensor circuit code P0113 indicating excessively high voltage or (Open Circuit) the ECM is either not seeing the correct voltages at terminals 66 and 80 under the dash at the ecm. It could be as simple as a broken wire under the insulation right at the air flow meter, Or a little worse a bad air flow meter. There are cheeper remanufactured Aair flow meters available at Nissan for your car around $150 instead of $400 like they used to be new.
