Question about 2007 Maserati Spyder

1 Answer

Oil pressure Just bought a Maserati 3200 GT (Automatic) from 2001. Seems very maintained and I am just currious about where the oil pressure indicator should show - mine is at 5 (highest level) very fast after engine start. Anything specific I need to look after for a car like this. Anywhere I can buy a users guide/manual for this car

Oil pressure at 5 bar all the time is generally a good sign and normal. After some enthusiastic driving on hot day you might see it drop a little when the car is idling. There are unfortunately quite a few things that can go wrong but many cars that run well for a lot of miles so if its running well don't look for trouble!! There is a couple of forums the maserati forum and and sports maserati forum with member who have the manuals on disk and will send them to you if you ask nicely. I bought a printed copy form e-bay, it wasn't cheap but its a proper maserati manual so its quite a thing!!

Hello,

for safety cases let the service center of your Masirate solve the issue.

However, try to find out the automatic relay that let accelerates on its own.

Hi i do have 2006 eclipse GT 3.8 and i have one problem in the cold days in morrning only u can hear clicking ticking so loud some told me the lefters some told me the oil pump but when ever i restart the...

Lifters use oil to create pressure in them. the pressure usually is maintained after the car is shut off. If the lifters are going bad, then they do not hold the pressure and will tick until the pressure rebuilds in them. It seems that when you wait 5 seconds, it is enough time for the pressure to maintain. First, I would check the oil pressure, if it is good then I would try a solvent that is designed to help lifter issue. If neither works, then you may have to change the lifters.

Is the check engine light on ?
Fuel in the oil could be a faulty injector or the fuel pressure regulator.

My oil indicator light is on and i dont know what the probelm is?

It's usually an indication of low oil pressure. You can try changing the oil and adding a stability agent. The main bearings create and maintain the oil pressure so it's a good indication that they are getting worn.

My son just bought a 1986 cadillac deville and the "stop engine oil" light comes on whenever he stops the car. Any ideas, a bad sensor, I hopr?

Well, if you say that when he stops the car, but the engine still running (idling) - that "stop engine oil" light comes on, it could mean that the oil pump can no longer maintain the minimum oil pressure to the critical areas of the motor at an idle.
If the light goes out with a higher idle (driving the car) that is a good indication of a worn out motor.
be sure the oil is at the full mark, not below or above the full mark. Make sure the oil and filter are new. The sender units for the oil lights rarely go out - but it is possible.

Oil light keeps coming on and beeps

This is the pressure light, nothing to do with the oil needing to be being changed, you have low oil pressure being indicated, this will destroy the engine if the light is really indicating low oil pressure, have the oil pressure tested with a mechanical test guage at a shop, if the oil pressure is ok then replace the oil pressure light sending unit.
