I have a 2002 Ford F-150 that clicks

I have a 2002 Ford F-150. Every time that I accelerate my truck makes a clicking noise. It's been going on for a year or so, So I know it's not a major problem, but it is getting annoying and I would like to have it fixed. Thanks.

Check your universal joints on your drive shaft front and rear. Does the truck make a funny niose in reverse? Sure sign of bad universal joins being bad. Does the noise go away when you let off the accelerator? The best way to check them is with the trans in neutral and the parking brake set and wheels chocked. You may see a lot of rust around them and play. Hope this helps!

Clicking only while accelerating, 5-speed

Could be a noisy valve or lifter in the engine, or an exhaust leak.
Can you make the noise happen by revving up the engine with the car parked ?
