How to pull stereo out

There is a special tool to remove it. It has four rods that go into the four holes on the face and releases the clips. If you're handy and not an animal, you can fabricate a tool that will work out of welding rods or even a stiff wire hanger but, remember to install the rods straight and they don't have to go too deep. If you have a feel for tools in your hands you will feel the rods engaging the clips. Hold the tool perpendicular to the radio and leave it in when you try to pull out the radio. You must engage all 4 clips or you could damage the dash. Just be careful!

Changing ignition barrel

The steering lock/ignition assembly is an armored item made of tool steel. To replace the barrel you will need to put the ignition key in position II and you will see a small hole in the silver surround . Inserting a thin pin into this hole pushes the catch aside and allows the key barrel to be extracted.

If there is no tiny hole on the face plate of the barrel you will need Mercedes to install your new barrel as it takes a special workshop tool to unscrew the key face plate.

How do you remove the radio

You will notice 4 small holes on the face of the radio. There is a special set of wrenches that you can get from an auto store that you push into these holes to release the tabs and pull out the stereo. These tools are not expensive at all but you could get creative and make your own out of something like small knitting needles. All for tabs have to be depressed at the same time to release it cleanly.

Do you know how to remove radio from 2004 crown victtoria?

Yes it takes a special tool for Ford radio's. Below is a picture of a basic Ford radio and if you look where I put the arrows there are holes. The special tool goes in those holes and when inserted you move them outward pull out and it will release. The second picture shows you what I'm talking about. When you have the tool it's VERY easy. You can pick up that tool at your local auto parts store and the are not that much money. I hope this helps and good luck.

The radio is held in place by spring clips behind the radio face there are two holes in the radio face face that a special relase tool set go through to relase the spring clips, you apply a slight outward pressure on the tools while pulling the radio outward. You can buy the Ford radio radio tools from most any auto parts store for about $5.00

I need to know how to remove my factory sterio out of my 1997 ford f150, i wanted to find a step by step diagram that would show me.

There are special tools that look like a horse shoe that fit ito the two small holes on each side or the stereo to release it. You can either purchase them or go to a dealership and have them remove it. Many dealerships will do this for free as it only takes a second to pop the stereo out. Please rate this answer, thanks.
