Does my truck have abs brakes? It is 4x4 1992 chevy 1500

Your truck is equipped with RWAL or rear wheel anti-lock. This just worked on the rear brakes(duh) but the speed sensor was taken from the speedometer drive at the transmission tailshaft, and would allow one rear wheel to lock as long as the speedo kept turning. Later models were improved with wheel speed sensors at each wheel.

97 chevy blazer what is the torque for front disc wheel bearing? I replaced front rotor and now abs light is on?

ABS is electronic, most likely you have a defective wheel speed sensor, there is one at each wheel.

The ABS warning light stay's on all the time, only time it is off is when the vehicle is shut off. 2002 Chevy silverado 4x4

90% of the time its because of dirt/mud build up on the sensor if you need a quick fix just take this thing down to the local self wash and power was the inner wheel well behind the tire . do a little research on the location that way you'll know where they are before hand.

How can I turn the ABS lights off in my 2001 Chevy Silverado

The ABS light indicates there is an issue with your ABS. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, have then scan the ECM for the DTC codes that has triggered the ABS light to come on. The common cause for this in your truck is a bad or dirty ABS sensor at the front wheels. Buy a can of brake parts cleaner and a brass feller gauge or you can just use the paper trick. Locate the ABS sensor on the inside of the front wheel hub and spray it clean with the brake parts cleaner and look for any damages caused buy corrosion or broken wire leads to the ABS sensor. If all wire leads are good, check to make sure the gap from the ABS sensor to the speed ring on the hub is correct. The gap should be 0.005 to 0.050 inch (0.127mm to 1.270mm), use a brass feeler gauge so it wont stick to the magnetic abs sensor or the thickness or a paper folded in fours. Good luck and hope this helps.

Just bought a 1997 chevy 1500 silverado and the ABS Lock light is on - whats wrong

One common cause for the ABS alarm is a defective wheel speed sensor. Often a small soft wire attached to the axle side if the wheel hub knuckle. The sensor can be a magnetic reed relay that senses a magnet mounted to the hub. Each revolution of the hub it passes the reed relay, the relay makes or breaks to cause a change in the signal. The sensor lead wire is in a very exposed location and I'm amazed they last as long as they do.
