A door pin has failed. Troubleshooting this will be time consuming, as each door pin will need to be tested individually.

Is the interior light on constantly?

It has a bad door jamb switch. This is common on windstar. They are installed in the door latches. Try spraying wd-40 in all the latches for a couple of days and see if it frees up the stuck switch. If it doesn't, you will have to replace the switch that is bad.

On every door or door frame there is a small switch that gets depressed when you close the door and turns the door ajar warning off. Check all 5 switches, including trunk (unless you know which door is the culprit). The switch is more than likely broken or malfunctioning.

Sounds like the door switch has the wires backwards.. Should be three wires to connect on the spades.. If on wrong. It thinks the door is still open.

Door ajar alarm going off and on

There is no fuse it is a ground circuit that sends a ground signal to the body control module, the BCM then turns on the light and the buzzer warning. The sensor is on the latch inside the door. The vehicle has 6 of them. You can have the system scanned/read to see which door or rear hatch switch(s) is causing the problem

After I lock my 2001 clk 430 with the key remote the inetrior lights stay on and the exterior lights start flashing, what can I do to fix this?

Alarm system is detecting a fault. It could be a door latch sensor gone wrong, and it should show a door ajar light while driving, or the hood or trunk sensor disconnected. Most alarms are designed to "arm", even if it detects an open door.

Door ajar alarm

I had this same problem. I was able to fix it by tightening all of the screws in the door and where the door closes. There is a small rubber piece that fits over a button. When the button is pressed, the door alarm will stop. For me, it was just taking off the metal plate and re-adjusting the rubber piece and then tighten those screws so the plate was flush against the door frame. Good luck!
