okay?! i'm a girl!!! LOL so i've replaced the window regulator and motor b/c i was having the problem of the window rolling down but not up. so the dealership told me to buy the window regulator w/ motor and they would install it. tried to save a buck and diy and now it still doen't work...LOL okay, i checked the switch when it didn't work and there was a clicking noise trying to roll it up, still rolls down just fine.....once again...just not up. if it's wiring in the door do i splice or what?

LOL..no not really...just a little aggravated with this whole window thing. i've already spent all the money to replace the rear window and driver window, and if it's something as small as the switch, i'm gonna kill those guys at the jeep dealership! tee hee

(although i just handed out 500 bucks to them and the problem wasn't fixed) thanks to you anyway 66 man

the wires are known to break were the door opens and closes.in the wire loom check there.the shop would have fixed this for free after they realized they made a bad call the first time !

try checking the window switch, make sure it has power when you push the button for the window to go up, if it does then it is most likely the switch. If it doesn't , try checking the wire loom that runs into the door. Sometimes a wire gets pintched or broken.

Power window front passenger side goes down will not come up

REMOVE DOOR PANEL AND TRY TO ROLL UP, LISTEN FOR THE MOTOR. IF NOTHING THEN REMOVE THE MOTOR AND TRY TO OPERATE IT IF THE MOTOR WORKS WHILE OFF THE CAR THEN I WOULD REPLACED THE WINDOW REGULATOR.

You will need to replace the regulators, they are an incredibly cheap design

How to roll down 97 Camry driver side window with bad motor?

normally you want the window up to access the motor and regulator but you can remove the window motor and try with a pair of pliers turning the gear manually

Window came off track

If by "off track" you mean the window will not roll up or down or it's not staying up, more than likely the window regulator is broken. There are pullies and wire cables attached to a motor to move the window. THe glass is attached with locking pins and don't usually come off (atleast I've never seen it happen myself and I've been working of cars for 12+ now)If you can hear a grinding noise when operating the switch or it sounds like something is binding, replace the regulator.

Got in my car, went to roll down the window and heard a pop. Then the window rolled all the way down and now it won't roll up.

Sounds like the window track fell off the window regulator. Sometimes you can replace the roller that goes between regulator & motor, but most times you will need to replace window regulator. Take off interior door panel & see which option is possible.

Rear window wont go up and just falls down unless held up. can hear the motor workn n when i try 2 "roll" window up a cable comes out a plastic tube. the working motor on the other side a cable moves in...

You will need to replace the window regulator, thats the part with all the cables coming out of it. The door panel will need to come off in order to replace.

Window wont roll down

The regulator is burnt out and you need a new one. I would just replace it.

When my window rolls down the cable snaps loose that rolls the window down. i just replaced the motor on the window

normally when the motor goes, I would always recommend replacing the the entire Power window regulator, the reason being that the plastic rollers break, thus allowing slipping of the cable, thus resulting in you being frustrated not being able to raise/ lower your window. all that being said a new regulator online is about 130.00 (325.00 from dealer + labor). Autopartswarehouse.com (this is where i bought mine) replaced it and have been happy!. you must already know how to get the panel off and get to the motor, with all that there are several steps left, and you will be happy again, remove the three bolts around the regulator, the 4 bolts securing the window tracks and the two clips or bolts securing the window to the window bracket, re assemble and you will be much happier, Good Luck !!!

1999 oldsmobile alero power window problems

9 times out of 10 when windows won't roll up or down it is the switch. It is probably just dirty or broke. pop it out of there open it up and check it out. Don't be afraid to do it yourself. if it isn't your switch than try replacing motor/regulator. I am pretty sure it is easiest to get them together. just be careful not to bend the regulator arms!!!!!!

Steve.
it is most likely your switch or your motor. Being the year that you have, I would replace both anyway. These are normal occurance in you type vehicle.
