Still stay....go to a auto parts store and have the codes read. It is free of charge and then you will know WHY the check engine light is on.

Disconnect the battery and you will LOSE ALL codes, not reset them.

Not advisable.

Service engine light came on? How do I reset it?

disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery for 1 hour, then reconnect it. this will clear the code from the computer. if the problem has been fixed then the light will stay off. but if the light returns there is still an issue.

Check engine light stays on after the service has been done. How to reset it

It can be reset by using the code scanner or by disconnecting the battery for several minutes. HOWEVER, I suspect that something is still wrong, as the light would go out after a restart or two.....

Disconnect either of the battery posts from the battery for at least 15 minutes...reconnect...this will re-set the system, As this does not stay off, you will need a service engine code checked...performed free at most auto parts stores...Hope the reset stays clear:)

The check engine light is on.

Sometimes disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will reset the check engine light. Make sure you have the correct radio code before doing this or your radio will not work after disconnecting the battery.
