HELP! My 2000 plymouth neon wont crank and no mechanic i bring it to can figure it out!!

If the headlights and dashboard lights are working but the vehicle still does not start, the ignition switch is most likely the problem. or a bad wire from switch. If your battery checks out, but the starter is still silent, it may be a faulty ignition switch. Turn the key to the on position (not all the way to start). If the red warning lights on your dash don't light up (and your battery connections are clean), the ignition switch is bad. If they do light up, turn the key to the start position. The dash warning lights should turn off at this key position (most cars). If you're not sure, turn on the headlights. When you try to start the car, the lights should either dim (a lot) or turn off completely. If they do, your ignition switch should be ok. If not, the switch will need replacement. check the wires to starter and see if you have power when car is switched on, do this first! good-day! if it cranks but does not start. check to see if spark and fuel, and check all fuses also.

Car won't start when I turn the key to start the #10 fuse engine relay pops I checked every thing down to the fuel pump and every thing is fine the few times I got it started I took it around the block and...

I had a similar problem where the battery was ok but there was no sound from the starter and also there no lights on in the dash when the key was turned. Checked the fuse and checked wire from the fuse back to the ignition switch. The wire from the fuse was ok in fuse box but had no voltage at the ignition sw. The was also no voltage to terminal 30 in the starter relay. Ran a new wire from the fuse to the ignition and it fixed everything. Check for voltage at terminal 30 on the starter relay

2003 DOGE NEON IGNITION .LIGHTS, POWER COMES ON BUT CAR WILL NOT START AFTER I PLAY WITH IGNITION SEVERVAL TURING AND PUSHING IT IN SEVERAL TIMES IT THEN STARTS

replace the ignition switch
The ignition switch is usually mounted to the steering column and is operated by a linkage rod.
NOTE On column-mounted ignition switches, don't confuse the switch with the lock cylinder and keys. The ignition switch is not normally visible. On some vehicles, the steering column support has to be removed and the column lowered to find the ignition switch. On others, the switch is accessible under the dash.

  • Remove the ignition switch wiring harness.
  • Unbolt it from its position.
  • Bolt the new switch into position.
  • Attach the witing harness.

Could be the ignition switch is worn out. Not the key part but the electrical part connected to the key. It has wires coming out of it.

Have him check the resistance in the wiring when the vehicle is hot. It sounds like a wire is heating up too much and not letting current flow through it properly.

Dodge neon se and when i turn my car on in morning it will start but go about five miles or so and turn off it won't start up again until maybe several hours later also had a couple of machanics tell me it...

Check the wire harness to the neutral/safety switch located under the air filter housing. The engine and transmission oil damages the insulation on the wires causing a major short. If ok, then check the switch itself. The switch controls the back up lights and provides ground to PCM. While the car is in park, perform a continuity check between the center pin of the switch with ground. If there is no continuity, then replace the switch.

Igniton fuse continuously blows on my 1995-96 dodge neon

Do you have an aftermarket stereo installed? Well, try this. Remove the ground cable from the battery. Install a new fuse. if it continues, Remove the center console. and check the reverse wire connected to the shifter. It did the same thing to me and all it was, was that wire was touching other wires
