Question about 2006 Nissan Altima

2006 nissan altima front seat problem

The driver's power seat on my 2006 nissan altima will not recline forward.
It can recline backwards but will not recline forward to the previous position.
Now it's stuck in the backward recline position.

Is there a free manual or steps for fixing this problem?
It doesn't look like a motor problem because it can recline backwards just won't return from the bckward recline.

any help will be appreciated.

Actually, I have the opposite problem. My driver's seat back will tilt forward but will not recline backwards. I can barely fit in the driver's seat now.

I have the same problem with the seat being reclined all the way back and will not move forward. Has there been a solution that either of you have found?

It seems like I have the same problem. I have had it for a while, but
it didnt bother me until I accidentally put my sit down. So, now I need
to fix it because I cannot drive with my seat being like that.

Have you been able to fix it? I took my car to the local auto repair
shop, but they couldnt fix it :( I made some research and it looks like
many owners of Nissan Altima 2006 had the same issue. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. Olga

SOURCE: electric seats will only go one way

You need to check for power at the motor when you try to activate the switch. If there's power then you have a drive cable issue. If this is a manual seat then the problem is the actuator assembly itself, the cable, mechanism, etc. Remove the seat & take a good look at it. You'll see a problem, write back.

SOURCE: The recline on my power seat stopped working

Sounds like a bad switch or motor. If it will incline, I am assuming it is the switch itself. Replace the switch, and it should work again.

My 2001 Nissan Altima driver's side seat has all motion except backwards. How can I get it to go backwards?

the backward motor has quit working, go to junk yard and find same car in your year range up or down pay particular attention to how your seat track looks. designs change every three or four years. it must be exact or it will not work.

Drivers side seat is reclined and seat won't go forward

That would be listed in the owners manual. If you don't have one go here and download it.

2001 Durango front drivers power seat lost power and what move what is the problem?

If the seat has recline and forward, backward controls and you can do nothing at all. Then I would say you may have blown a fuse. I would check the fuse box. If you lost only recline or only forward & backward then it may be a bad motor. It can also be a motor if you lost both but both motors going bad at the same time is unlikely.

On a 2006 yeah that sounds like a defect in the motor I would look to see if there were a recall on it.

The recline on my power seat stopped working

I just bought a 2005 Nissan Altima that had the same problem. The motor was fine. I opened the switch and found that a trace on the small circuit board was cut/missing. I soldered it on the spot and it solved the problem. You can access the switch by carefully prying off the switch buttons, then the plate. There are two screws that must be removed so that you can pull the switch assembly out of the seat.

You can move the drivers seat back by turning on the power, getting in the seat and position your feet firmly on the fron flor with your back firmly against he seatback, and then engage the switch pushing back - while pushing like hell with your feet. You can actually hear the seat drive shaft turning while the seat moves back. The principle should be the same for moving forward, but pressure would have to be aplide to the back of the seat.
