Question about 1989 Toyota Camry
I have an 1989 toyota camry that seems to only start when it wants to? when its cold in the morning sometimes it will sometimes it wont. when it does start after driving for a while then shut it off say you are down town then come back and try to start your car it won't start. after reading this site allot more people than just me are having this problem. if i turn the key really fast sometimes it will start if i'm lucky. people with this same problem say they have changed everything battery starter cables ect. can you help me
If you hear a slight "click" when you turn the key to the start position its probably worn starter contacts inside the starter. These can be replaced with-out replacing the whole starter unit but if the starter is original you may be better off replacing the starter.

Maybe try looking into your fuel pump. When they are getting bad you can get all sorts of irratic starting problems
