I have found that the ranger is a lone wolf, there are not a lot of options for exhaust. your best bet would be to get one custom made. Not much more than one you buy from the parts house and buckle it together yourself.
tell the shop owner you wand magna low mufflers and I actually had the cats replaced..that all cost me about 700 bucks and it is Stainless welded.. well worth it and I had the size increased by1/2" it breathes so much easier and you know as well as I the 20 MPG is a pipe dream but that gave me 22..

Could be that your cat is clogged up,the way to check is to remove and look in both ends, mine clogged up and caused my head gasket to blow between cylinder 3 and 4 on my 85 Nissan 720,part of the inside came apart and was blocking the air flow, causing my exhaust plugs to blister.

Vacuum leak around inlet manifold or hose, spray around with D 40 or similar, engine will speed up when you find the leak. DO NOT spray around hot exhaust or you will have a fire.

2003 rear differential

I am a Ford tech and the diff doesn't need to be serviced (new lube) unless it is torn down or it has a leak, however it is my opinion that under heavy usage such as towing it should be serviced at around 60,000.
