By loud screeching and knocking does it sound like a midget is in the engine with a ballpeen hammer? More knock that screech and localized on the front passengers side of the engine?

If so it is more than likely your timing belt tensioner dying a slow (or maybe rapid) death. Not an easy change but a diy'er can do it if they have some mechanical knowledge. Get a kit on ebay for the timing belt and water pump (might as well change it while you have the front cover off the engine) for around 120-150 bucks. The tensioner sells by itself for around 80 bucks. Getting the cam banks to line up on time is critical. Make sure the cylinder on the front drivers side is at top dead center and the cam mark and engine mark match (remove the plug and insert a 6" socket extension to better tell if you have to). The bottom crank mark is a bugger and using a large make-up mirror with a handle works wonders and keeps you from hiring a circus contorsionist.

Changing the oil is simple procedure.
it more sound like you left some thing close to a moving part.
Check over the engine very carefully. Around the belt area, by the fan.

Try to pin point the noise and add more information. Then I will try to gave you a better answer.

I currently own a 2003 isuzu rodeo that i purchased new in 2003 i recently changed the oil and was driving and heard a loud knocking / banging noise . I immediately pulled over and shut it off ,popped the hood and checked the oil only to find out i had plenty of oil. i asked a mechanic he told me to replace the oil pump and i did , but it still makes the same noise. it only has 80,000 miles what else could be wrong?

I have a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. When starting, it has a loud skreeching noise and when theres a load on it. I have replaced the belt, 2 idler pulleys, alternator, a dummy water pump pulley, and the ac. Still it...

Typically, the noise comes from the fact that the tension on the altenator belt is not enough. I recommend you tighten the belt by adjusting the tensioner screw by about (2) turns and test. Repeat it as necessary until the noise stops.

You'll usually hear the noise right at start up and it will continue for close to a minute until the idle of the car changes.

2001 isuzu tropper 3.5l 4x4 engine runs but loud knock changed oil and still has loud knock can i just change the oil pump or do i need to change whole engine

If you are hearing a loud "knock" and it is coming from the bottom of the engine you probably have a bad crankshaft bearing(s) which means engine rebuild or replacement.

Knocking when started, noise disappears in higher gears.

try an oil change my brothers isuzu used to do that and he did an oil change resulting in a fix. If it gets worse you could have a piston shoot through the oil pan.

Engine knocks 3.2 isuzu rodeo 2000 ? help

You don't say how many miles or give a service history, but, that said I would check the timing belt and tensioner. When tensioner goes bad is often is reported as a loud knock or tick. Usually most evident at low RPMs. Another low cost try is to use a can of seafoam in the oil now, run it a few miles, then change it for a high detergent, low viscousity oil and drive it a while to see if the lifters clean up. engine tick is very common, generally due to lifters oil passages getting sludged up a little for 2nd gen 3.2l's
