Heating up your car

It seems simple, but you can make a big difference by turning off your radio, wipers, climate control, all of those accessories, when you start the car. Most of the wear on the engine happens when you start the car, and by turning off those accessories, your engine doesn’t have to work as hard when starting.
Another thing people do is revving the engine in the winter. This actually doesn’t help “warm up” the car. Although it does technically make the engine hotter, it’s not the kind of “warming up” that you want. Revving your engine in the winter causes extreme temperature changes right away, which is actually the opposite of what you want. When you start the car, the oil hasn’t yet worked its way through the system, so the engine is working without lubricant. The right way to do it is just let the car sit and idle for about 30 seconds to a minute at the least.

My plymouth breeze won't start, won't make a sound, but my lights and horn still works , help me.

any real answer yet? did the problem ever get resolved? i have the same problem with my sister's car. too cold to diagnose tonight, but will post the solution probably tomorrow. since the lights and heater works, but ignition and radio arent getting power, my first guess is there's probably a fried fusible link which controls the 2nd accessory power to the ignition switch. will post a solution soon.

Side mirror and radio not funtioning at all toyota corolla 2001

Probably a blown fuse. Find the fuse box, (make sure car if not running, key out of ignition), open fuse box cover. The cover usually has a description of what fuse does each power task. Find the radio/ACC fuses and removing them one at a time (don't have 2 out at once), hold them up to the light and look for a broken band inside the fuse. If you find one, replace it with a new one of the same size and amperage. It is the cheapest place to start.

2000 Chevy Suburban radio not working

Sounds like an internal problem with the radio. There are places that repair factor radios, but for the money, you are better off buying an aftermarket radio. There is a company called Scoche (spelling) that sells a good line of wiring adapters and mounts for aftermarket radios so you can install them yourself. You can get a good radio (some with the new HD radio) and CD player for under $150. The mount kits run about $15 and the wiring harness runs about $10....all abailable at Best Buy or Wal Mart
