    passatsyncro,

Thanks for your reply. I still could use some help. Looked up in a manual, but I still could not find where it is supposed to be. The car runs great when warmed up, but has a lot of trouble with cold start. Could that be due to missing therm air cleaner or maybe the cold start valve?

I believe it does. It should be in the bottom part of the air cleaner box. There should be a vacuum hose connected to it from the throttle body boot.

Hello - I just bought a 2004 Jetta - day one - mil light came on. Car runs fine. What could it be? 2 mechanics checked the car over before I bought it and carfax said it was one owner no problems.

Have VW check it out. I had just got my 04 GLI with 70,000 miles when the light came on. The thermostat triggered the light and so I had the whole timing belt, thermostat, and water pump service. Worth the money.

Clutch replacement instructions for 1986 VW Jetta

The release bearing goes in the back of the transmission. You'll need to remove the round "VW" cap on the end of the transmission. I would need to see the pilot bushing to know for sure. It could be the starter bushing or the clutch pushrod bushing.

My 12V outlet went out and of course looking at my manual it was not giving the right location. After trying the different empty slots I discovered that the 12 V outlet fuse for my 2007 VW Jetta Wolfsburg was 6 rows down and 3 slots over. I hoped this helps someone else from the headaches of searching for it

Check to see if any of the hoses are kinked. Its also vary commen for new termostats to fail. If its not that then more then likely its the water pump.
