89 ford mustang lx 2.3 starts but will cutt off after 20 second

Hello my name is daniel my 89 lx mustang has a 2.3/5 speed trans, i just put it back on the road and drove it all day on the way home it just shut off at random, i glided it into a parking lot, when i attempted to try to start it again it would start and i can hear it hit on all cylinders but will cut off as soon as i let go of the start for starter, its getting fuel i have a troggle switch to fuel pump, and i can smell the fuel so i know its getting fuel, i thought it could be lack of battery power but as plently, it ran fine all day, then just up and dont want to stay running, as soon as i let go from start position it dies, all electronics work, all lights, heater and everything, anyone knows what it could be? e-mail me at undeadnightmare2005@yahoo.com and many thanks to whom can help me or trys

Have the charging system check or take alternator off and have it check the *** might be bad. Listen for the full pump to pressureize the injectors. One big thing check the timing belt to make sure it has not jump time.

Ford mustang was making a whine/ rattling noise while doing 20-60 mph then after driving 20 minutes she died at a stop sign, would start up fine in park, but died when we tried to shift, what is wrong

Automatic or stick ?
If its an automatic, it could be something in the torque converter or transmission. The torque converter clutch could be stuck.

89 F250 460 door sticker says trans code "k" what

Transmission Types : Ford E4OD/4R100, 4 Speed, Automatic Transmission
Comments: w/ Shallow Pan = 20 bolt holes 4 speed

Drive Trains : Four Wheel Drive
Transmission Types : Ford C6, 3 Speed, Automatic Transmission =17 bolts 3speed

What does the dash indicator say and does the stick have an od button on it? there is only 1 3 speed for the 460 and only 1 4speed for the 460

Engines:{300, 302, 351w}, {400, 351m, 460}, {6.9L, 7.3L IDI}, {352, 360, 390, ect.}
Fluid:
Pre '77: Type F
Post '77: Mercon
Display: PRND21
Pan 17 bolts "Utah" shape
Ratios:
1st 2.46:1
2nd 1.46:1
3rd 1.00:1
Trans code: K

so you should have the 3 speed acording to the code

Hello, I got a 89 mustang LX and the steering is very unresponsive. It has several inches of free play in the wheel before I get a response, I already checked power steering fluid and it is fine. -Cheers

This is more of a suggestion than an answer. You need to check on your steering column under the hood. Start your car an have someone turn steering wheel back and forth. Look at the steering knuckle at the end of your column. I am currently having the same issue, my steering wheel has alot of play to it and the knuckle is worn out. Im not sure if steering knuckle is the correct name but its the joint that connects your steering column to your rack an pinion i believe.

you have another circuit piggybackin on the dash lights, my guess is a bad ground to the parking or tail lights, try unplugging the tail lights and front marker lights. if the fuse satys good you have it

Speedometer reads 15 to 30 mph than actual speed. Just started , cold here tires are the sameas before. 2005 v6 mustang

Sound like the speed sensor is not working right. Located on the drivers side of trans where the speedometer cable plugs in to the speed sensor. One 10mm bolt with clip holds it to trans.
