I have a 95 Ford Explore. I just got it and my o/d meter wont go off. I think it is stuck. I tried pushing the button but that didn't do a thing. Do you have an answer as to why it wont go off?

Sounds to me that you have a problem with the coolant and the engine oil mixing the (milkshake in the recovery bottle) does it overheat? prior to shutting down? also does it blow white smoke out of the tailpipe? likely it is a bad head gasket(s)

When the key switch is in on or start, the shifter lock solenoid is powered. When you push on the brake pedal the power is cut.
The brake switch and the solenoid would need to be tested.
