clciking indicates battery is low on charge. Either charge the battery or jump start the car. If your battery light is on, it means your alternator is not charging the battery. Or your battery has a dead cell. AUot store will check for free.

My car won't start but I don't think it's battery. When I turn the key to start it up the radio comes on and all of the lights, but when I crank it up it sounds like a clicking noise. What's wrong?

year, make, model, engine size?

If it is a rapid repeating clicking noise when the key is in the crank position than it is almost always the battery. If it is a single click every time you try to start it is almost always a bad starter.

Raise your hood and ask a friend to start the car.
The fuel regulator is in series with the fuel rail.
Just listen and locate the clicking noise to isolate.

Wont start

the clicking noise is usually 2 things, step on try jump starting car and if starts have battery tested as it is probably bad (free testing at most chain auto stores), the other usual problem is that the starter has gone bad, when whoever tried turning off car while driving might have put into start mode and burnt out the starter when it engaged at high speed.

Avalon won't start, fast clicking noises

Sounds like a dead battery issue. If someone can jump start you with battery cables connect red to red post on battery and black to your car frame or other ground. If the car starts easily it indicates a discharged battery. Then you need to determine why the battery is discharged. If you can drive to a local autoparts store they can use a machine to do a battery and charging system diagnosis at the curbside. Autozone, Advance, or Oreilly all do this. If the battery is the original from the car when purchased it is probably time to replace it. If its a new one (2 years or less) the culprit may be the alternator. The clicking noise is a dead give away that its a battery or alternator issue. The clicking by the way is the starter trying to engage and turn motor over to crank it. Its not getting enough power to turn the engine over (a tough task) and is clicking.

Clicking noise when trying to start

Check the battery. 99% of the time it is just a weak or bad battery. It could be a bad connection...ie battery cable, solenoid connection, ground, etc., The clicking noise you hear is the solenoid engaging and disengaging due to not enough current to hold the contacts together.

Check tightness of the clamps on battery & make sure the earth cable is tight from battery to engine, also check tightness of nut holding the cable 2 starter motor if all ok there its most probably the solenoid on top of starter motor replace this with new all will b ok.

Clicking noise when trying to start car, battery is ok, wont start

That Clicking is the Battery causing it not to Start. You need to Replace that Battery or at Least put a Charger on it for a Couple of hours to see if you can Salvage it for a While.

Clicking noise under hood of 2001 Chrysler Sebring

Sounds like you have a dead battery. You either need a jump start with jumper box or clean battery terminals and see if that works
