Question about 2009 Audi TTS

4 Answers

My 2008 Audi TT Quattro coupe has had brake squeal since purchase. I've had the problem addressed four times by the dealer, even to the point of replacing the front wheel brakes entirely. After a few hundred miles, the squeal returned. It is so intense that it can be heard by other cars on the streets and highways. I am thinking of trying to get it classified as a lemon with retrun of the car for its original $50,000+ purchase price. What do you think?

Thanks a lot Ginko. After 4 failed attempts to fix the brake squeal problem, I already have sufficient documentation to look into arbitration with the NY State attorney general's office. I am entitled to my money back or a brand new Audi TT.

I find it incredible that with so many 'new' Audis out there, my dealer's 'trained' mechanics have no clue how to fix it.

I will solicit the dealer personally, and if disatisfied, I will go through having the car declared a Lemon.

Hi,my name is andy,i am from s.a.and have experienced the problem before, the dealer in question should have chamfered the inner and outer edges of all the pads for the loose particles to escape, they must also clean the calliper brackets and lube the contact surfaces of the pads and the brackets,if this is done correctly it should solve your problem, please give me feed back, andy.

Hello, you may want to replace your brake pads with a set of non-ceramic type. Your pads that are on your vehicle are going to be the ceramic type and they don't wear out as quick as non-ceramic because they arre softer material. This also cuts out any rotor noise you may hear.If a piece of sand gets in a ceramic type pad you will hear it like a record player, but the non-ceramic type cushion the sound. Please rate my answer, Thank you.

End of the day, if your car's not right, and the dealer cannot fix it, then you should either get a replacement or a refund. They have made an attempt to fix it and failed, so there is obviously a deeper problem that they haven't found. Why not find a local garage who can take a independent look at it and quote you once they find it?

Ask the mechanics to have a last look at your disks, and brake system, check also the wheel bearings.

If they cannot fix the problem, ask a car replacement to the dealer.

3rd time top has malfunctioned! Once down, will not close. It's a 2008 Audi TT. Dealer has repaired it and said it was the motor. I waited 3 days for repair. What could be the problem? My warrenty ends...

I have had my TT to Audi 12 times and have had to leave it for a week or two several time.

Thru an attorney I took a $ settlement after 7 repairs, I am very sorry I settled ... Audi should to a recall and extended warranty. I too have my warranty running out in October 2011 and only have 33,000 miles on the car ... not sure if I should keep; but with service record they don't even offer me much on trade in with this service record. I am now finding out this issue is not only my issue, my service department has issues with 3-4 Audi TT with the same issue.

I am going to call my attorney general and find out what can be done / reported and possible the better business bureau.

Just wanted to vent.

PS: Last time they replaced my system with the new 2011 system; no issue yet.

if your handbrake is in between the seats you may have to remove the console that surrounds the handbrake lever, there is usually an adjusting nut behind the lever

I need to buy a service book & owners manual for audi tt 2008 roadster

Dear Avid Book Reader.......Some of your local auto parts stores might have these on the back shelf hidden from outta sight and mind. My best bet would be to make a couple of cals to parts stores in your area and see who is carrying them....if ya have already done that....then make the dreaded phone call to the audi dealer and have them ship that little bible of gears out to your humble abode.....thanks for readin and I HOPE I HELPED!!!!!
