It depends on if its a 4 or 6 cylinder engine.4 cylinder will have 2 one before and one after the cat.6 cylinder engine will have 3 one at each exhaust manifold and one after the cat.

Where is O2 sensor located?

They are located on the exhaust system, one is before the catalyst and one after. If it is a v6 or a v8 it will have 4 o2 sensors. If your codes read sensor 2 it means the one after the catalytic converter.

there are 4 sensor, 2 front , 2 rear of cat.
or can be 3, if the rear merge to 1 cat. but not this one.

the front sensors are hard to change

if you post country and engine,
anwers get better 100x.
we cant guess that.

this page covers front no rear, rear is child easy to fix.
rears only change if you get P0420s. (lazy cat errors)
the fronts control fuel mix. hot, closed loop.

O2 sensor?

O2 sensors are always after the cat converter and HO2S sensors are always before the cat converter.
p0135 refers to heated oxygen sensor(HO2S) 1 bank 1-heater control--circuit malfunction
If it is a straight 6 cylinder engine with 2 cat converters it will be the sensor before the cat converter that connects to the manifold from pistons 1.2.3
If it is a V6 it will be the sensor that is in front of the cat converter that connects to the rear bank pistons 1.2.3. Use the special socket when removing/replacing the sensors to prevent wiring damage

Where is the 02 sensor on a2002 lincoln continnetal

There are four sensors on the Continental cat converter. Because it is front wheel drive, the engine is rotated 90 degrees compared to a rear wheel drive. Next up is location. Front O2 sensor should be near the radiator. It will have a green connector where it is plugged into wire harness. It is called left sensor on the frt wheel drive cars. The right hand O2 sensor is downstream on the inlet pipe right above number 2 cat, the one that looks like a catchers mit, ahead of the flex pipe.Sensor 1 reads air/fuel mixture and is commonly called O2 sensor 1. remember green connector. Sensor 2 monitors the function of your catalytic converter and have a blue connector plug. Front wheel drive cars are a bit tougher because everything is 90 degrees off of diagnosis, front, rear, number 1,number 2. BTW, the sensors with blue connectors are called CMS sensors for catalytic monitor system and rarely go bad. Auto Zone scans for free and I would have it scanned before popping 40 bucks for new.

I need to know where the O2 sensor Bank2 position 1 on a 1997 3.3 interpid.

O2 sensor locations break down like this.

The bank refers to which side of the motor. Bank 1 is always the same side of the motor as cylinder number 1. Bank 2 is the other side of the motor.

Sensor refers to before or after the catalytic converter. Sensor 1 is always before the cat and sensor 2 is always after the cat.

So bank 2 Sensor 1 would be the O2 on the passenger side of the motor before the catalytic converter. You should see it threaded into the exhaust manifold.

Double check for leaks and cracks in your exhaust system. Those need to be addressed first. If nothing found,1 of 3 thrings is quite likely; 1. bad front o2 sensor 2. bad rear o2 sensor or 3. failing catalytic converter. One way to check the cat is to run at normal operating temp around the block a few times, return to your work area, hose the cat down with a water hose and wait for the light to turn on. If it does, have a new cat welded in place. It is a good idea to replace the o2 sensors at the cat( fore and aft) to avoid more repairs. Not necessary though.

Code p0133 on 2004 deawoo matiz please is it the oxy sensor and if so front or rear one thank you

O2 Sensor Circuit Slow Response Bank 1 Sensor 1
this is the sensor that is located in the exhaust just off the engine and before the cat converter, so it is the front sensor.

1998 Avalon Oxegen Sensor

Bank 1 Sensor 1 is the sensor next to the head and in front of the cat converter for the head nearest the firewall. Not after the cat.
