Question about 1993 GMC Sierra K1500
I converted Jeep to Chevy power, installed rebuilt Chevy pump, connected to Jeep steering box with new hoses filled fluid to correct level, started motor. Pump is turning, no unusual noise from pump, but I don't get power steering to work. Could there be air in the line? I don't believe the hoses can be reversed because the fittings don't seem to allow for backward installation. Does anybody have a solution to my problem?
Disconnect the return line at pump put it in a jug start the engine check for cirrulation and too bleed air keep filling pump if you have no cirrulation the reconnect the return hose and discnect the supply too see if it pumping if it is then you have a blockageif not then you may have a bad pump

1. Remove serpentine belt
2. loosen power steering pressure and return hoses
3. Remove nut from pressure line mounting on alternator bracket
4. remove power steering pump mounting bolts.
5. Lift pump assembly from engine mounting and remove hoses.
6. Reverse order to install. Fill and bleed system.
NOTE: A new or rebuilt power steering pump will most likely not come with a pulley attached. You will need a power steering pulley remover/installer tool to transfer the pully from the old pump to the new one.
