Question about 1998 Jeep Cherokee
I dont know the exact circumstances of each incident in which the windows did not work, this is however a problem with Jeep Cherokees most commonly causes by a broken or freyed wire between any one of the doors and the frame, There is a black rubber boot that connects the doors and the frame which covers the wiring between them. Inside one of the boots (probably on the doors that are most commonly used) you will probably find a broken wire. You should soldr this connection and then cover in shrink tubing. Also, this wire, although broken, may not have broken the normal shielding and therefore may not be obvious. The fact that it seams to correspond with turning the car off, can be explained by the entering and exiting of the car as well as any other environmental changes such at teprature or shaking of the car while driving.
Let me know how it turns out
