Question about 1990 Toyota Pickup

1KZ-TE fuel into fuel pump, and bleeders but no fuel from rear of pump into injector lines all valves seem to be operating any ideas

    1kz te toyota super custom cranks but wont start getting diesel to pump but not to the back of the pump where the injector lines screw on

Possable air lock ...
looen port 1 injecter and turn over engin ok but only for a few seconds then re tighten

That's hard to say from here, I know it will take some time for the fuel to pressurize the injector system before it will start, does the system have a bleeder valve located on the injector lines? Have you checked the fuel filter and fuel pump and fuel pump fuses? Why did you change all these parts to begin with? Did you check the owner manual for a fuel pump shut off emergency switch? I hope one or some of these suggestions help, it's hard to answer your question without knowing more about the problem!

The engin will turn over and start but runs only seconds


In the fuel line on the rear of the intake manifold, there is a bleeder valve with a black cap on it. Remove the cap and depress the valve while the key is on. BE CAREFUL if the fuel pump is operating correctly fuel will spray out. If there's no fuel pressure, then the fuel pump is bad.

It has to be your proportioning valve, and it is probably jammed and blocking flow to the rear. You can either replace the valve or try to reset it. To reset, you need a way to put pressure into the rear brake exit port. If the valve has bleeder screws on it, try opening the front bleeder and pumping the pedal. If there is no bleeder on the valve, I have also heard of people opening the front caliper bleeders and pumping the brake to see if a little pressure in the rear will slide the piston open. No harm in trying these ideas before buying a new one, eh.

Check calibration. Muffler supports from the front till the back, there should be proper clearance. Is your diesel fuel of proper cetane rating for the engine? Check your belt drive system, is there any part that is excessively draining engine power, power steering pump, air con compressor, alternator or generator? Do these preliminary steps and isolate.

Install fuel pressure guage, clamp off return side and verify the exact pressure it is producing to the injector rail. Checkmanufacturer specs. If it is not sufficient. Replace pump.
