Do you have any anti freeze leaks? Also is ther an electric fan in front of the radiator, or does it just have one fan that runs off a belt driven from the pulley? Poor cirulation through an almost clogged radiator? Bad thermostat? Do you have water dropplets on the dip stick? RC

Yeah,,,,,,,,,,,I think you might want to change the thermosat.......If that doesnt do it , you may want to think about having the radiator flushed...........I have seen that happen, but we started with the simplist thing first.....Go for it , I think you are on the right trail ...Good luck, RC

'91 F150 won't start

I guess there could be debris in the tank - but the fuel filter will catch it and clog up (is that a hint, or what),

Other possible is the ignition coil... the are plastic inside and they dry out and crack inside.... when they are hot - open circuit... When they are cool, closed circuit - working...

so, next time it dies, check for spark. Otherwise, replace the fuel filter (hopefully you have one OUTSIDE the fuel tank).

Air conditioning gets hot when stopped , fine as long as driving

The refrigerant may be low, also could be that the a/c compressor is going out. Have it checked

91 automatic Cavalier stalls after stopping

It sounds like the torque converter clutch. Just unplug it. It is the square 4 pin plug on the front of the transmission. Once it is unplugged and you get it unlocked, it will be fine. Just leave it unplugged, it won't hurt anything.

89 cavalier 2.8 shuts off whan it warms up

I had this happen to me with my 91 Cavalier and it was the ignition control module. Autozone will test it for free but as you already know the problem does not occur until the engine is hot so by the time you take it in the test may not find any problems with the module although it is bad.

Cavalier dies

you need to find the fuel pressure release around the fuel rail press the little tab when the car dies. If there is no fuel coming out from that point, your fuel pump is going.
