I have just replaced the plugs, wires were replaced approx 6 months before the trouble started. The problem started & has progressively gotten worse. Starts out smooth then when tacs up starts falling on its face.

Just to bring you up to date. We changed the fuel filter, no chg. Took it today to put on a machine. So far, come to find out we are running the wrong plugs, we should be running double electrobe plugs & not single electrobe. ( but this is what was given to us from the auto stores).. As soon as we get those in, I will update you. Per machine test I have a misfire on #2 cylinder.. Also they said if the plugs don't fix the trouble it is possible I may need to replace the mass air flow sensor. thanks for your help & as I said I will update, once the plugs are changed. Any other info you may have would be greatly appreciated.

If tune-up, wires etc, haven't been done in a while, it would be a good place to start. When were they last done?

Usually the parts stores like autozone & PEP boys will scan for free, which should tell you if you have a faulty sensor, but if you want to try a fuel filter replacement, if not done recently, then that is also a good inexpensive place to start.

If you can talk someone in to a fuel pressure test, that would also help with diagnosis.

I'm still leaning towards plugs & wires, but lets see what happens.

O.k. now that answer has come in, lets try the fuel pressure & filter change, and get it scanned while your there getting your parts.

1995 Toyota Tacoma will not start when it is damp out. It will turn over but will not fire

How I figure these things out is by spraying water on items under the hood, when the engine kills you have found your problem area. You may have to do this a couple times to verify exactly which part is failing. Good luck.
