Question about 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix
If I recall correctly, this vehicle is front-wheel drive. If so, have a shop (or if you can your self) check the drive axle that delivers power from the transmission to the front wheel. A boot could be ripped.
Your symptoms sound similar to what happened to a friend of mine's vehicle. The sound would come and go.
