Question about 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix

I have a 1995 pontiac grand prix se when I get up to 35 mph or higher there is a repetative clunking type noise and a vibration it stops when I hit the gas or the brakes it also happens when I turn a corner usually making right hand turns.

If I recall correctly, this vehicle is front-wheel drive. If so, have a shop (or if you can your self) check the drive axle that delivers power from the transmission to the front wheel. A boot could be ripped.

Your symptoms sound similar to what happened to a friend of mine's vehicle. The sound would come and go.

see if the noise goes away in a right hand curve, if it does its probably wheel bearing,because you will be lifting weight off it in the turn, also check to see if you have a bubble or seperation in the tire.

when you hit curb it dammaged wheel bearing very common its the equvant ot hitting with a sledge hammer also check ball joint tie rod inner and outter wont cause noise but can be dammaged aswell also have car sent to alignment shop in case some parts were dammaged or bent

99 grand prix se noise that stops after the car warms up


You might try checking the oil level, this might help if it sounds like a ticking noise in the engine compartment
