Question about 2001 Chevrolet Silverado

I have a 2001 Chevrolet Xtended cab. The heat will not heat. Turned on and off, but nothing happened. What do I do? I have noticed from time to time it would also get hot when the temp. was on cold. Do I need to replace something?

Yes remove the radiator cap when its cold and check the fluid level . also check the overflow for the correct level in it .. the overflow is at the other end of the hose near your radiator cap.. thanks and good luck.

What exactly happens, is the blower itself blowing, but air is cold? If that's the case, have you removed rad cap & checked coolant level etc.?

Hello. this is usally caused by a bad temp door actutor. the heat is controlled by a electric temp door motor. these motors go bad quite often

No heat comen out heaterbox on floor inside cab

Sorry Ken, I have had that problem before on my 99 suburban and had to replace the heater core...Might check your thermostat first if you aren't getting any heat at all or very slight....Could also be an air bubble in your water line causing no heat to get through to cab...

My 2005 yukon denali has been making chirping/whistling noises inside the cab when driving and after ignition has been shut off. It doesnt happen all the time just here and there

Sounds like your air conditioning. If you notice it while driving, your freon charge is low. If it is noticeable only after the ignition is turned off, that is a pretty common sound.

Not getting heat in cab put new heater core in an thermostat still nothing back flush the core still nothing

Is the blower running at all? Also, make sure the main air intake vent is free of obstructions.

Also, a vacuum leak could cause the actuator to not function correctly. I'd check into the vacuum lines if all else fails. I've had too many cars here with heat/air problems due to vacuum loss and the actuators not switching correctly.

A/c blend door

blower motor is hitting on the casing more than could be wearing out or the bearings going bad in the motor
