Bad master cylinder you may have a bad brake line/hose or leaking caliper/wheel cylinder . Check master cylinder to see if it filled if it is then there is NOT a leak and you have a bad MASTER CYLINDER. Change bleed and this should take care of this problem.Good luck nd thanks for using FIX YA

The engine surges on my 2007 when i step on the brake

If its only when you press the brakes, there may be a vacuum loss in the power brake system. Check the hoses from the manifold to the master cylinder booster or the connection on the booster itself. The hose may be split or the connection loose and leaking air. The booster itself may have a ruptured diaphragm. To check this, start the engine and run for a few minutes. Press the brake pedal and hold in. Turn off the engine. You should feel the brake pedal drop slightly. Remove your foot off the pedal and press the brake pedal a few times. Each time you press it , the pedal should keep dropping slightly and feel harder and harder to press. This will let you know that the booster is working properly.

On the floor board you will find the brake pedal. The back side of the pedal hits a bake switch. follor it to the fuse box and replace.

1993 Mercury Grand Marquis, Brake fluid leaking under left rear door. Brake pedal goes to floor. How can i fix this?

Hi, the reason the pedal goes to the floor is because the brake line going back to the rear axle blew, first you will need to find where the hole is and cut out the bad section, usually you can find a clean spot further down that you can cut out the bad spot. you will need to go to the parts store and get a new piece of brake line and a tubing cutter and a double flare kit. usually you can rent one of these to save money.

Yes sounds like serious problem, especially the harder to stop, If you mean the car just isn't stopping as fast and included with the pedal getting closer to the floor sounds like you have a brake fluid leak. Might be leaking from a line maybe the master cylinder or caliper or wheel cylinder, any which way probably should get checked out.

Break peddle goes all the way to the floor

Fill the master cylinder with brake fluild unless its already full. f it was low or empty the system is leaking somewhere. If it's full it's a whole different story. You didn't say anything about warning lightsd on how long has it been this way and even thogh the pedal goes to the floor doesit still stop?
