Question about 2000 Renault Sportwagon

1 Answer

The central-locking in my Renault Kangoo is not functioning. I have gone through all the doors and there are no problems there to be found (oxide or similar). If I put power to the system through the sliding back-door-connectors, all knobs will go up and down. This means all motors are running properly in my opinion. If I press the lock-button in font of the gear-stick, I will hear the relay click. This means the relay has got power... I have also dismounted that relay (located on a card that also takes care of the imobiliser-system) and can´t find any obvious faults there.. Since the problems came crawling (some days it worked and some not and now has completely stopped working) I presume there might be some lose cable or something that is not to hard to fix, as long as it can be located that is... Anyone´s got a wiring-map for the Kangoo? No need of saying, but off-course I´ve gone through all fuses! //Henrik

Not sure if you are talking about the remote in key fob or not operating the central locking but the battery in that could have run down / out. Nott 100% sure if this is fault or not.

SOURCE: Renault Clio Rear Door Lock Fault

It has nothing to do with the "child lock" It is a know problem in this car, they tend to get caught in lock. Only thing to do, is to take of the panel then the outside handle, and through that hole destroy the plastic covering the lock, a large screwdriver and hammer will do! Then you can release the lock, while you pull the inside release handle. Buy new!

SOURCE: replace cv boot on a renault kangoo

Did one today, assuming drive shaft removed take off large clip from inner boot slide back joint socket comes away leaving the knuckle joint on the shaft remove 19mm circlip and tap knuckle off spline this allows outer boot to come back - easy enough. Not much tubber to secure new clip over boot though especially with all the grease.

SOURCE: The central locking on my 2001 Renault Scenic is not working.

Your not going to like this but it sounds like you have a problem with your ECM, Electronic Control Module. This is not something you will be able to repair unless you have a detailed work station to remove the Sealing compound that surrounds the modules control board.

Renault kangoo van doors keep locking and unlocking when parked why?

Sounds like a dodgy central locking motor, I would first though
get some wd40 and spray all the locks and inside the mechanisims, they sometimes get stiff in cold weather and when they lock they dont go all the way to the lock position leaving them half way either way, hence the doors lock and unlock. It may be the motor itself but try this first as it will save you a few quid.

let me know if you need instructions on how to remove the central locking motors.

Dan
