Question about 1997 Chevrolet S-10 Pickup
A few days ago I started my car but the key suddenly got stuck in the starting position and began grinding my starter, so naturally I turned to the on position and was a bit worried. I then tried to turn off my car and found that it would not budge. I could turn it forward to start it but not turn it off. I tried putting it in low gear and jumping it back up to park but no go. it feels like there is something jamming it from turning it off. I asked a repair man about it and without even glancing inside my vehicle (let alone at the ignition system) he told me it would be about a 300 dollar repair. Now I may be only 22 but I am old fashioned in thinking that you have to actually look at it to give an estimate. so I opened up the steering collom but I still cant see exactly what is wrong. I cant afford to put in a new ignition and electrocuting myself to turn off my car isnt very appealing to me. Can anyone help me?
Youre igni. switch is defective,i would pull out ign.or fuel pump fuse to make it stall, then unhook batt. not to drain.
