SOURCE: firing order, 1990 Pontiac Grand am 2.5 l, 4 cyl

Its 1342 or 1432 To guarantee correct firing order take plugs out and place your finger/thumb over the plug hole so you can feel the compression cycle.Have some one flick the key on and off slowly .As soon as No 1 has done its compression cycle the next cylinder to compress will be in the firing order. You only need to test 2 clinders to tell you which one of the two firing orders ive given you.good luck and let me know how it goes

SOURCE: Engine 3.4L Pontiac Grand AM 1999, Looking to fine

For a 2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE (with 3.4L V6) the correct General Motors Part Number is 10070107 and they describe it as an "Engine Coolant Air Bleed Valve". If you're a dumb*ss like me who dropped the part into the grass and you need another, you have to go to the dealership to get one and it will set you back around $11 to $12. Hope this information helps!

How do you change the waterpump on a 3.8 liter grand prix? what parts have to be removed?

drain the coolant
remove the overflow bottle 2-10mm speed nuts
remove the drive belt
remove the water pump pulley(center of the engine and no groves)
4-8mm bolts
remove water pump bolts 4-10mm 3 of the 10mm bolts are on top and the other is under the pulley flange in the center
4-13mm bolts are on the side(they are long bolts they also go through the front cover)
take a hammer and screw driver and tap the pulley flange to break the pump free
clean the old gasket off
and install the new pump
and reassemble
open the bleeder screw on the thermostat housing
fill the rad
close the bleeder screw
start the vehicle and run to operating temperture
check that you have GOOD HEAT(HOT)
hope this helps

How do i install a water pump on a pontiac grand am?

if you are talking about a 2.4 liter engine (4 cylinder) then this is a hard job for a novice. on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 beiing hardest , i would give it a 8.5. first take off the exhaust. second take off the exhaust manifold.. loosen backside of water pump mount. i think there are 5 bolts hodling it to the engine ( do not try to pry pump out of back of timing chain hole). here's where it starts getting tricky. unbolt motor mounts. take off serpentine belt. take large crow bar and push engine up and put 2x4 block under engine to hold in place. take off harmonic balancer (need 300 lbs torque, buy pneumatic torque gun at harbor freight for about 40 bucks). take off timing chain cover plate. take off timing chain tensioner. lift timing chain up over water pump sprocket and remove water pump. reverse to re-assemble. i can do this all in about 4 hours. by the way change out thermostat why you are at it. make sure you do not put thermostat back in upside down. this procedure is for the 2.4 liter engine. a great engine made by screwed up pontiac engineers during a beer bash. do not attempt unless you have the time, tools and patience.

I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.
