Question about 2004 Saturn ION

1 Answer

I need to find the fuel filter on a 2004 saturn ion 3. The car is running rough, and throwing a P0300 code at me. I have replaced the coil pack, plugs, both oxygen sensors, and the catalytic converter. (after all of this, the car still runs rough...)I figure that the fuel filter needs to come next in my seemingly never-ending replacement of parts. Any help would be appreciated.

Check your plugs, check the ign module, test the injectors, take a fuel sample and make sure there isnt water in your fuel, if all these test good perform a compression test. if the compression test fails replace the head. if the compression test is good. check the timing

Why does the coil pack keep goin bad on my 2004 dodge neon?

How do you know the coil pack is bad ? Did you test it , or are you going just by the P0302 - P0300 ? These codes do not mean the coil pack is bad ! Could have a vacuum leak , could have weak fuel pump , partially plugged fuel filter ! The engine could have a mechanical fault , burnt valve , bent valve , bad head gasket ! Sounds like you need stop wasting your money an take it to a pro !

2005 saturn ion 3 trouble code P0300

A P0300 code indicates random, multiple misfires were detected. You eliminated the possibility of ignition system faults by replacing the ignition module, the coils, and the spark plugs (unless the replacement part(s) were no good). However you did not mention the ignition wires which are another probable cause. In addition, there could be vacuum leaks due to damaged hoses or improper routing. Consider also fuel contamination or a problem with the fuel system.

1997 4Runner 4wd, 6cyl Limited. Engine running rough. replaced plugs, wires, coils, fuel filter, and computer and still runs rough. I discovered codes on invoice of P0300 and P304. Have paid a lot of $$...

could have a dirty fuel injector, ad some cleaner to a half tank of fuel, you could have water in the tank and many other things. Are you getting any service lights? Does it run rough all the time or only on rainy days? p0300 and p0304 are both misfire codes, i would try cleaning the fuel injectors first.

2005 saturn ion2 missfire problems

Stop wasting time at auto zone and throwing parts at it. Find a good repair shop and have it properly diagnosed and repaired.
Have you ever had a spark plug fail in your lifetime?Probablely never will.
Do you know how to test a coil pack? Did you test it?

A simple check of vacuum hoses or a loose air filter cover, loose gas cap an so on ,could be your part of your problems. e.g. something simple.

I would recommend spending the big bucks and getting the shop manuals, for all your vehicles, something no one wants to do. Then study your vehicles systems and eventually ,you may be doing your own repairs.

Higher octane gas 93 with some good octane boost in the black can at autozone cost about 7 dollars or a bottle of 104 octane boost. Change the fuel filter. Probably only one coil pack is bad. The OBDII reader should tell you which one was a misfire.

My 2005 saturn ion has a p0300. i changed the ICM and it worked for a while but the same problem started again.

Generally I have found that when this code or one ending in another number (example P0304) can mean that the coil pack is bad. When I get the code that's what I usually had to replace. Here is a website that may help you out ....
