SOURCE: ford f350 loss of power and poor fuel milage

I found the problem with my 2006 F350. It did not idle very smoothly, vibrated at 45 to 60 mph, and got poor milage. I brought it in and found the issue under warrantee. I had five of eight injectors bad. No wonder it was running bad.

Try grounding the gauge wire at the tank. If the gauge and wiring are good the gauge will go way past full when you do this.

SOURCE: 1987 ford f150 dual fuel tanks fuel qty gages

tank switch on dash could be bad, also selector valve could be bad. are the fuel gauges accurate front or rear. like you say the rear reads full, is it?? I would try the switch on the dash first.

Check the fuel regulator at the end of the fuel rail. If if is not functioning properly it can cause the the problem that you are describing. Unfortunately other than doing an R&R with a known good regulator I do not know of a fool-proof test for this component.

MY FUEL GAGE DONT WORK

Very first thing is to check all fuses, then go directly to checking the ground connections. I actually have to pull the bed off my pickup to get to the top of the tank to fix my ground connection, I gotta replace the bed anyway. But I know for a fact it's the ground on the tank because sometimes it reads empty, sometimes way above full. And I know it isn't full.

2008 Escape Fuel gage reads empty

Do you know if they also replaced the sending unit in the tank ?
It could also be a problem with the gauge on the dash.

Fuel gage is not working properly. It is currently reading empty but the tank is full. Check gage lamp is on due to this.

first check that -ve cable of battery is good contact with body and motor ,if not the float of fuel tank may be hange or need to be replaced.

Gas gage read full when empty and sometimes emty

You have a bad fuel level sensor. The fuel tank needs to come out and the sensor replaced. You don`t have to replace the pump assembly. You can get the level sensor separate.I`m not sure if the parts stores have it but I know the dealerships do.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Gas gage constantly says full when it's not!

Unfortunately this is most likely the fuel pump module, which includes the fuel level sensor also. This should be diagnosed more thoroughly with a scanner, a good scanner will be able to check instrument cluster separately to confirm the gage is working right, and check for trouble codes that may not light any warning lamps. Hope this helps. Rate me please.P.S. Dont use that fuel station any more.

Fuel level gauge

some of this vehicles have a computer system, that will allow you to diagnose the fuel gage with an aftermarket sacan tool,
than most of auto repairs have, but i will recomend you to check also the conector by the fuel pump and make sure there is not any corosion or melting circuit inside the conector,

what the scan tool does is triger your gage and that way you will know if you have a bad gage.
