The horn on my mitsubish wont work, all the fuses work, whats the problem?

The rheostat is the little dial on the dashboard that alters the brightness of the dash lights. It isn't under the hood. If your turn it all the way down until it clicks, it will turn off the lights. It will be in your manual.

Did you check the fuse circuit for voltage? Use a test lite or something. The fuse circuit goes hot with key on. Even if the fuse is good, if no voltage on the fuse circuit, the circuit is still dead.
The wiring circuit in the steering column and horn switch are the ground circuit for the horn relay.

Check power and ground at the horn, when some one is pushing it. If there, replace the horn. Work your way back.relay,fuse,clock spring.

You need to determine if it's the horn or the alarm. My Montero (not Sport) had 3 horns. All 3 of which go off w/ the Alarm, but only one is connected to the horn on the steering wheel. I could not make mine go off w/o pulling the relay under the hood.

My spring was bad in the steering wheel. I was able to bypass the wire using instructions that I actually found on a Mitsubishi Forum. Link below:

Check the connection to the horn? be sure they are properly grounded. Also the horn switch on the steering wheel may be not making a connection with the ring plate behind the steering wheel and before the column.

try a new horn relay.

Check fuse for horn. Check wires to horn under hood. Might have came loose.

open the hood and locate the horn.., it will have 2 wires connected.., disconnect any one of them and horn will stop working.... this is just a work around.., u can also locate the fuse box and remove the fuse for the horn., and that will do.

check your horn fuse first if not working, then check cables from and to horn if none of this work then could be that the horn when out;(

in my 98 montero sport the horn relay is next to the power steering resivour. As you look at the engine far left side a little black square. Just changed mine cause it went out
