I have a 1996 buick skylark and my gas tank switch inside of my car will not pop open the gas tank door on the outside. I think that it is frozen for the snow and cold weather. I think that my switch does work but the problem is that it will not open the tank door. Is there another way to open my gas tank door besides the switch or do I just have to wait?

The most common causes are a faulty injector or fuel pressure regulator. If one of the injectors is not closing, it will allow liquid gas to flow into the cylinder and past the rings. If the regulator fails, it will allow liquid gas into the intake.
Could be many things. First things that comes to mind is the fuel filter, second is carburetor. Sounds like it isn't getting sufficient fuel. This could be the result of debris in the cas tank coming up through the gas line and gettting stuck in the filter. There are really other things that could go wrong. Check and ensure with someone helping that when you press the gas pedal that the linking is properly moving the mechanism on the carburetor and make sure the butterfly valve is opening. Try spraying some WD40 on the valves moving parts if they seem to be sticking.
Gas cover has a pressure clip that fits inside on the gas door latch. When you pull on the cable in the cabin a little arm withdraws and the pressure clip causes the gas door to spring open. If the clip is missing, the arm withdraws but there is no spring to pop the gas door open. Replace the pressure clip.
SHOOT STARTING FLUID IN TO THE THROTTLE BODY, NOT TOO MUCH,BECAUSE IT WILL BACK FIRE, UNTIL IT STAYS RUNNING, IF THIS DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM, THEN FIND THE GAS TANK AND BANG IT WITH A RUBBER MALLET, NOT TO HARD, JUST ENOUGH TO SHAKE THE TANK.
HI MY NAME IS JUAN:
I HAVE A 93 BUICK SKYLARK CUSTOM
AND I HAD THE SAME HESITATION.
I CHAGED GAS FILTER, AIR FILTER, AND USE SEA FOME IN MY GAS TANK AND USE IT ALSO TO CLEAN THE INTAKE SYSTOM, AND IT HELPED ALOT. TWO MONTHS DOWN THE LINE HADE THE SAME HESITATION AND IT WAS ONE OF THE INISION COIAL PACK WAS NOT GIVING THE ELETRICAL SPARK TO THE PLUG. I CHECK IT BY PULLING THE CABLE OFF THE SPARK PLUG WITH THE CAR RUNNING AND FOUND THE ONE THAT WAS NOT GIVING SPARK. I REPLACED THE PACK FOR THAT CILINDERS PLUG AND THE PROBLEM WAS GONE.
HOPE THIS CAN HELP YOU.
There is no button to open the gas door from the inside of the car. As long as the doors are unlocked, you should be able to push in the far right side of the gas door and the left side will pop open. I too spent hours looking for this non existent button..I went as far as to going back to the car dealership.
