Well it could be just a matter of cleaning out the leaf screen or pull the heater fan more out and see if it is dirty in there and when out spin and see how the bearing feels

Noise and burning smell from heater

Pine needles get into the heater box and clog the heater fan motor's "fan".
You also may have rodents in there, making nests.
The wife was smart to turn off the heater fan B-4 the fuse blew.

94 chevy s10 blazer heat and air just quit working

Sounds like the fan stopped. First check the fuses. They are under the dash on the driverside up - WAY up under on the left side on the inside of the firewall.
If the fuse is good you can check the fan direct. The fan is located in the housing. The housing is on the passenger side of the truck facing the truck. On the firewall you will see the casing. Remove the retaining bolts and remove the fan. Put the test wires on the fan while securing the fan and see if it turns. If not - replace with a new one. If the fan turns with the test wires directly on it - you either have a good fan or a partially bad fan. At this point I would put the old fan back in [ if it turns with test wires ] - then be sure to check the fuse again. Check all the fuses while you're under there. Try this. If it still doesn't work. You will need to pull the dash and most likely repair or replace the main controller. This is a job for a professional. If you want to tackle it - take down your VIN # - go to the Chevy dealer and ask them to give you the repair instructions. Usually they will.

Best of it
