Power steering belt broken or fell off, or the pump is out of oil. The pump is down on the right hand side (passenger) between the fire wall and the engine. You should be able to see if the belt is still on. Check the resevoir for oil. It is on the same side. It's a little plastic pot with a dipstick. Let me know how you make out.

When turning steering wheel real sharp to the left or right it makes a rubbing sound in the Toyota Camry is that pk

Do you have standard rims and tires? Any variation there can cause rubbing.

Other possibilities

-one of your full lock steering stops has become loose and is allowing a tire to contact the body.

-the steering box is moving in its mountings, allowing too much lock

Ignition key won t turn

The ignition key won't turn likely because the shifter linkage that locks the key in OFF is worn or loose. Move the shifter linkage hard to the Park position and the key will turn. Have the linkage adjusted and the worn parts replaced

My ignition wont turn and it seem to have locked my whole car up. what can be the mane cause for it not to turn and locked my car up the switch for the computer part of is and what is it called?

Is your steering wheel turned tight.Sometimes if you park and leave your wheels turned a little bit it pulls on the lock on the steering wheel sometimes. You have to try and move your steering wheel when its off and see if its real hard to move.try pulling the steering wheel off the lock and turn the key.also I think u meant the brain.

Car will not start, key will not turn, car hit in back drivers side today sitting still. Car is in netural, cannot turn key or steering wheel

Hiya,
I would say that the impact from the other car has pushed your car forwards and turned the steering wheel a little which has put the steering lock on real hard. You may have to "muscle" the steering wheel in the direction the wheels are turned while trying to turn the key to get it to unlock.

1996 camry le 6 cylinder. cannot get ignition key to turn to start car. gear is in park and have tried adjusting steering wheel

Hi the steering lock could be causing you the problem try turning the steering wheel hard left whilst turning the key and do the same hard right.

it may be hard to turn but you should find once you have moved it slightly it will unlock allowing you to turn the key so dont adjust the steering wheel turn it to the right as if your trying to turn to the right and if this dont let the key turn turn the wheel to the left it only needs to move slightly to allow the steering lock to free the key,

doing the above should solve you problem

give me a shout back if you have any further problems ok
