It has been a long time since I've replaced one of those. From what I remember you don't have to go through pulling the heater box out. You do need to remove the glove box assembly. Look up under the passenger side of the dash. If you see the bulge of the motor/cover hanging straight down then remove the cover and the motor will be there. If you don't see that then te motor is mounted horizonally. If that is the case then the fresh air door assembly will need to be removed and it is behind that.
Here is a quick check to see if the motor is bad. Thump the bottom of the heater box by the passenger's feet. if the motor comes alive or makes noise then it is bad. Also check the fuse and make sure that it doesn't work on any speed. (the resistor would prevent operation on only one speed or more but generally not all speeds)

I just checked my resources and found out this motor is horizontally mounted. When you remove the fresh air door cover/assembly. Remove the vacumm diaphram first. makes it easier to find the screws. Once that is out of the way you will need to remove the squirrel cage from the motor then you will easily see the three screws holding the motor in place. There is a vent hose on the back side. And the wiring comes up the back side to the top and towards you. The connector is easily visible right in front.

Good luck and let me know how that works.

Yes the dash will have to come off to replace the core (pain). But first check under the hood to see if the resister is rusted out (mine was+fan bad). Way less work and cheep to free at junk yard. Located mounted on the front left of the back wall once hood is open. held on by 2 screws. Very easy to see if bad or good. Piece is about 4"x 2". There should be 3 coils of wires on the inside. If any are rusted apart this piece is bad. Good Luck! Winters coming!

How do I get to the blower motor for a 1995 dodge Dakota to replace it ?

Bad design on the 1995 Dodge Dakota. The dash has to be removed to replace the blower motor. May want to replace the heater core while the dash is out to keep from having to remove it later for a leaking heater core.
