I have a 2003 subaru Legecy 2.5 4dr. I want to change the fuel pump. Can I axcess the pump by taking off the gas tank, or can I take out the back seat and axcess the pump there?

Have you properly diagnosed the pump as the problem?

Fuel delivery problems are mostly due to the fuel pressure regulator.

Under the seat is only access to the wiring harness.
To change the pump assembly, the tank must be dropped.

Why there is no powere supply to the fuel pump on subaru forester

How CRANKSHAFT Sensor can cause this. The Car needs a Reference Signal to operate the Pump. If there is no reference Signal, then you will not get the Pump to Stay on.

I would start with the Fuel Pump Relay and Fuel Pump Fuse FIRST...

I have a 1998 subaru legecy 2.2 and check engine light is blinking the codes p0120 p0121 p0500 p1540 come up what now

Take it to a Autozone parts store or a large parts store and have them hook up their hand held analyzer and read those codes. they will then give you a printout of what they mean. All for free. take care, and good luck

Will not start, no fuel in to the cylinder camber

Sounds strongly like a fuel pump issue. This unit is in the tank and can be axcessed by removing the rear seat and axcess panel. Very easy to do and takes very little time.

Subaru legacy wagon

This problem is usually caused when the transfer solenoid/valve assembly goes bad, it's located in the transmission extension housing & needs to be replaced. it can be done without removing the transmission.

Temperature Gauge

Sounds like a bad thermostat, or blown head gaskets. replace the thermostat with one from the dealer. If you still have the problem one or both head gaskets are bad.
