Yes their is a breather pipe but if its that bad then either its completly blocked or you need a engine rebuild.The breather is on the front of the engine with a pipe running to the air intake and the dip stick is in the top

they stick like regular ,get a pair of grips and turn it anticlockwise and i promise it will come off ,happens all the time whenever i service a citreon or a peugeot ,and a ford as they all use the same engine (diesel)
if it is a petrol engine you will see a black cap with a hose coming out of it on the fount of the engine it can be very hard to remove so you will have to pull firmly but don't be rough as you don't want to break the filler tube ( there should be a picture of a oil can on it)
