You'll need a new steering rack, power steering pump, hoses, power steering pump brackets.

they should be easy to find. If not, hit up haprecycling.com

Heavy stiff steering on 2003 honda civic

Most likely a bad steering rack
That is what happens, when you don't change your P/S Fluid
Change fluid and add Lubgard Honda (only) Additive--found at auto parts store.
Use correct honda fluid also

Convert manual steering to power steering

Hello, it is possible to add power steering, because the Festiva has a power steering option from the factory. You could find the parts from a salvage yard and have them put on, but my best guess is that it would cost you too much money. Although, Festivas are such good cars, it might be worth the money. A friend of mine added air conditioning to her Festiva and it cost $800, which is about how much you can buy a whole used car for if you're lucky. A typical mechanic would probably charge you about $500 to get the parts and put them on and that's being conservative. Many people who have Festivas do the work themselves because the hourly labor rate of many shops is from $85/hour and up and putting all that power steering equipment on would be at least half a day job and many parts would have to be changed in the steering.
